Questions

Can I use copyrighted music in a YouTube video?

Only with permission from whoever owns the recording (usually a label or the artist) and the song itself (usually a publisher or the songwriter). Without both, your video can be claimed through Content ID, demonetised, muted or taken down.

Is there a 30-second rule for music?

No. Using a few seconds of a song without permission is still infringement. Short clips are not automatically fair use or fair dealing.

What will a SASHYO. licence cover?

One song in one YouTube video, for up to 60 seconds, with both the master recording and the publishing cleared. Normal YouTube monetisation is included. Paid ads are not.

What if the rights holders say no?

You don't pay. Credits are only used when a licence is actually issued.

I'm an artist or label. How does it work?

Set your price once. When a creator licenses your music, you get paid. Approve each request yourself, or pre-approve the uses you're happy with.

When does SASHYO. launch?
